Course Description
PMAN 608: Effective Communication and Project Leadership
Note: All courses carry three (3) credits unless otherwise stated.
This course examines current philosophies of leadership as applied to project management, and identifies various styles of communication and conflict resolution.
Topics include leading and motivating; coordinating project team members; communicating objectives, plans, and results; and measuring, integrating, and controlling team members’ work.
Participants will learn the leadership and communication skills necessary to promote and support effective project management, and enhance their ability to lead, motivate, coach, and influence others. They will develop a better understanding of their own strengths and weaknesses as a leader and communicator, and learn to use specific tools that are results-oriented and listener-focused to be more effective in their communication planning and delivery.
